Welcome to the first edition of the Ladder of Inner Freedom (LIF) newsletter! My name is Vikram Mahabaleshwar, and I'm excited to share my journey in pursuit of inner freedom with you each Sunday morning.

My Pursuit of Inner Freedom

For over three decades, my daily life has been enriched by meditation, reading, music, and continuous learning. These practices have been the cornerstone of my personal growth, offering me peace, knowledge, and a deeper understanding of myself. In the last four years, I expanded my routine to include exercise, gratitude, and a focus on nutrition.

In the past three years, I’ve truly come to appreciate how these combined activities contribute to my overall well-being. Through self-reflection, I’ve identified the practices that fill me with joy and energy. Inspired by Naval Ravikanth, I crafted a daily blueprint that includes activities aimed at fostering inner peace and happiness. These activities are not just tasks to be completed; they are moments of joy that nourish my soul.

Once the basic necessities around food, shelter and clothing are fulfilled, I realized that I could either pursue luxury and vanity or focus towards inner freedom. To be honest, once in a while, I do lose focus and move away from the pursuit of inner freedom. During those moments of confusion is when this blueprint has helped me realign and refocus on what’s important.

One of my inspirations for this journey is The Quiet Rich newsletter by Jade Bonacolta. Her insights and reflections have encouraged me to delve deeper into my own practices and share my experiences with others. I hope to provide a similar source of inspiration and self-reflection through the LIF newsletter.

Embracing Joy and Energy

The core of my daily routine revolves around activities that bring me joy and energize me. Each morning, I engage in meditation to center my mind and find tranquility. Exercise has become a vital part of my routine, improving my physical health and boosting my mood. Practicing gratitude allows me to appreciate the positive aspects of my life, fostering a sense of contentment and happiness. Focusing on nutrition ensures that my body is well-nourished, supporting both physical and mental health. Spending time out in nature heals both the mind and the body.
